Beijing dismisses ‘politically motivated’ cyberattack accusations – INA NEWS
China has strongly denied it was behind an alleged state-sponsored cyberattack on the US Treasury Division, following accusations on Monday that hackers linked to Beijing accessed delicate information and workstations in what officers in Washington have known as a “main” safety breach.
Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese language Overseas Ministry, mentioned on Tuesday that Beijing did take severely “such unfounded accusations that lack proof.”
The spokesperson said that “China has at all times opposed all types of hacker assaults, and we’re much more against the unfold of false info towards China for political functions.”
The breach, which was found on December 8 by cybersecurity agency BeyondTrust, concerned the theft of a safety key that enabled unauthorized entry to unclassified paperwork on Treasury Division techniques.
