Israel has sworn in retired Main-Common Eyal Zamir as its new military chief, changing Lieutenant Common Herzi Halevi, who resigned in January over the army’s safety and intelligence failures throughout Hamas’s October 7, 2023, assault. Zamir pledged to press in direction of “victory” in Gaza.
