The US Senate has confirmed military veteran and Fox Information contributor Pete Hegseth as the subsequent secretary of protection on Friday.
Hegseth acquired 50 votes in favor and 50 votes in opposition to his candidacy, after which Vice President J.D. Vance forged a tie-breaking vote, sealing his appointment to steer the Pentagon.
Republican Senators Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins and Mitch McConnell broke ranks and joined the Democrats in voting “no.”
Hegseth, who wrote a ebook about the necessity to restore “warrior tradition,” has promised to spice up combat-readiness and status of army service.

Hegseth defended his candidacy by insisting that he’s the suitable man to rework the army. “It’s time to offer somebody with mud on his boots the helm. A change agent,” he instructed the Senate.
