US President Donald Trump has instructed the Pentagon to reinstate army personnel who had been discharged for refusing to obtain a Covid-19 vaccine.
The Division of Protection made vaccination obligatory in August 2021, giving all service members till November of that 12 months to get the shot. The mandate was terminated in January 2023.
In an govt order issued on Monday, Trump referred to as the coverage an “unfair, overbroad, and utterly pointless burden on our service members.” He went on to argue that the Pentagon had failed to supply exemptions to many troops who had been eligible.
