Russia frees jailed US nationwide – White Home – INA NEWS
Russia has launched US nationwide Marc Fogel following negotiations with advisors of President Donald Trump’s, the White Home introduced on Tuesday. Fogel, a former schoolteacher and US diplomat, was sentenced to 14 years in jail in 2021 on drug trafficking fees.
“As we speak, President Donald J. Trump and his Particular Envoy Steve Witkoff are in a position to announce that Mr. Witkoff is leaving Russian airspace with Marc Fogel, an American who was detained by Russia,” the US Nationwide Safety Adviser Mike Waltz stated in an announcement, including that Trump, Witkoff and another presidential advisors negotiated his launch as a part of “an change.”
It’s unclear who Fogel might need been exchanged for. Moscow has not commented on the event thus far.
Waltz praised Fogel’s launch as a “present of excellent religion from the Russians and an indication we’re transferring in the correct course to finish the … battle in Ukraine.”
